How to change your Minecraft world seed

Please note that in order to change a level seed, you will need to create a new world (You can keep your old one though, it doesn't have to be deleted).

  1. First off, login to NiTROPanel and head to the file manager of the server that you want to set a new level seed on (this is the page with all the files and folders).

  2. Find the file thats called "server.properties" and right click and then select edit. This will load the file into an editor.

  3. Search through the file and find the line with "level-seed", you will then need to add the seed you want after the equals symbol. You can find seeds on websites like http://minecraft-seeds.net/

  4. Once you have added the seed, you will need to re-generate your current world. To do this, change your "level-name" value to something else, for example, if it was set to "world" - you could change it to "world1". Save the file and then restart the server.

  5. Congratulations, your level seed should be loaded onto your new world!
